Note: Upon installation and launch, the Reader for PC software will prompt you to migrate your existing Reader Library contents and database into the new Reader application. How to Remove Duplicate Notes or Bookmarks (PRS-T1 only) Open a book that you want to delete duplicated notes and bookmarks on the PRS-Tl reader device.

Short story: I dropped my eBook on the floor and the sliding power button has shattered in many pieces.Once opened (with some help of the service manual), I managed to confirm the rest of my eBook works fine by manually pushing on the PCB power switch.Does anyone know where I could find a replacement 'ORNAMENT TOP ASSY (Silver)' at a reasonnable price? Part price + shipping (to Canada) of what I found online is WAY over the price I paid for it:(I'd be more than willing to salvage it from a dead eBook if someone got one to get rid of. My search for a replacement of PRS-T1 is down to the choice between another T1 and T2. Can anyone tell me, can you still hold a word to select it, then drag the edges of the selection to extend it, finally push a Highlight button or a Add Note button? And freehand mode is still accessible at only two clicks (menu, then the icon)? Also, I had several annoyances with T1. I wonder whether they are gone in T2:1) When selecting a word in the lower part of the screen, it gets obscured by the dictionary definition of the word.2) The same with freehand drawing, except that it is the top-left corner which is obscured.Thanks.

Please help me, I fear I have bricked my PRS-T1.I got ir rooted long time ago and wanted to update its firmware. It failed and so I made a factory reset. Since then I always experience pop ups saying 'The application Home has stopped unexpectedly.

Please try again' after startup. If reopens every time I confirm. Nothing can be done, not even connect to the computer via USB.So I decided to use the rescue image. I donloaded it and extracted the file to my micro SD card (FAT32). I inser the memory card and restart the device.

While its booting I hold home and menu until the bar reaches the 100%. But then the rescue mode doesn't appear. Instead it opens the normal homescreen with the annoying error message. Why doesn't it initialise the rescuing process?:help.

Apologies for cross post in Sony Reader Dev Corner and regular Sony forum - I'm new to MobileRead, unsure where to put this question, and must make decision soon about returning the 950Bought a 950 last week on ebay, trying to decide if it's worth keeping. I like using it a lot but it has at least one annoying feature.I want to know from you all: is the hanging behavior I describe in what follows normal for a 950 or most older ereaders? Thanks for any ideas or leads to pursue. DETAILS BELOW:While reading a couple of ebooks purchased from legitimate publishers (O'Reilly and Packt) and loaded via Calibre, I notice that the ereader will hang at odd moments and does not respond to anything I do, including sliding power switch to put it to sleep. It is difficult to describe the exact circumstances of the moments preceding each hang.

In fact, for all I know, they are random and unrelated to the books themselves. After several minutes, the ereader again becomes responsive.- Both books were imported into Calibre and copied using it onto the device.- Both books are available in epub format and I assume the 950 is using that but I don't know how to be certain (both also have parallel PDF versions shown in Calibre)- One book has an 8MB epub file; other, a 2.3MB epub fileFROM the SETTINGS/ABOUT page:- it proclaims under a 'Hack Information' header that this reader has been 'Russified: porkupan (boroda) Version: 1.05m'. I don't mind that, so long as my reading experience has not been harmed.Available Space:- Internal Memory: 1.314GB of 1.452GBDevice information:- Version: 2.0.00.11300- Device: 8BA572.

If this question has been posted here before, I apologize.I did not use my PRS-350 for about a month, during which time the battery was drained and recharged twice. Yesterday I tried to upload new content, using the Reader for PC program, but I kept getting a pop-up message saying: 'not enough space for copying files'. I deleted some content from the reader, but I kept getting the message. I tried again today, to no avail. I checked the capacity status, which tells me I still have 53 MB of space left, and the new content I'm trying to upload is much smaller than that. I tried to contact Sony support, but could net get through. I have also tried re-booting and soft reset. Can anyone give me some advice on how to fix this problem?Thank you in advance!

I admit I am clueless (or almost). Trying to prove I can download and read a library book (Berkeley Public / Overdrive) on the Sony PRS-950.Get a 'reader auth'd to another user' message using Sony Reader Library. How should I fix this?DETAILS:1. From prior owner on ebay I bought a Sony 950 working reasonably well.2a. Set up an Adobe ID.2b. Set up an account at kobobooks.com3.

Installed the Sony Reader Library application on my iMac.- It recognized the Adobe ID.- It auto-sensed and imported a.acsm file I downloaded from library.4. Connected 950 to iMac, Reader Library sees it.5. In Reader Library, dragged library ebook to Reader.- ERROR: Warning: This eBook cannot be transferred because the Reader is authorized to another user. I was trying to solve my dictionary freezes but I managed to corrupt the OS by installing enable-adb not meant for my firmware (1.0.07). So, I have bricked the USB and Wifi of the PRS-T1 after I installing enable-adb not meant for the firmware version.Restoring the reader with tools made by the community is not possible because they are made for 1.0.05 and below. But I thought of a way to save it.I need a backup of the OS related partitions (Recovery, Diag, system etc) of a working reader running the same firmware. Then I can restore to reader to working condition and possibly retry the rooting process.

I believe it is possible as long as I don't try to enable ADB.Can anyone provide me with backup of those partitions?p.s. The reader is rooted and working now, besides the USB and Wifi, but charging is only possible in recovery(rupor) mode. New to both readers and rooting them, and I am eager to get started unlocking my Sony PRS-T2. But the info on this is sparse in English, and the translations from Russian confusing, to say the least. Also, much of it is years old, so I don't know what the latest info (or files) are on the rooting process for the T2.

If someone here familiar with this can please answer my questions, I'd be grateful!1. FIRMWARE: I have firmware ver. But I don't know if it's the so-called 'good' version of 1.0.0.4.11081, because I am not the original owner of the reader. I know it's a Canadian model, and I can probably assume the owner did not update the firmware, so it was probably already on the reader. Does the fact that the firmware might not have been upgraded to this particular version mean the reader can not be unlocked and rooted?2. RECOVERY: Trying to get into the factory recovery using the 'HOME+MENU+POWER' button combo does not work.

The red team has 30 seconds to disguise and camouflage itself as an element of the scenario, while the blue team has to find the hidden players and kill them. Hide and seek games. With this add-on you'll have access to a new gaming mode within GMod in which you'll play hide and seek inside the title developed by Garry Newman.Another GMod mod together with TTT and DarkRP.This game mode is similar to what we can find in other open world games like Minecraft, and its Hide n' Seek mod, that has become tremendously popular thanks to videos by different youtubers, including PewDiePie or Markiplier, among others. What's Prop Hunt all about? With this GMod extension installed on our Windows PC, we can take part in a kind of hide and seek game played by 2 teams. Prop Hunt is an extension for the popular sandbox game Garry's Mod launched back in 2004.

It just reboots the device. But there is so little info out there, I am not even sure what the native recovery screen should look like.Once connecting it via USB to a Windows7 PC, I tried the command line program 'ebookmsc' to get into recovery. It seems to just reboot the device, eventually into the main home page with the books. No special message or logo showing a recovery screen.

But with or without ebookmsc.exe, I have access to the SD card on the reader, and internal memory, separated into two 'drives'. However, the INFO command on ebookmsc says 'device locked: NO'. Does this mean I can root it? I have no idea if I have accessed recovery mode or not!3. JAILBREAKING:I ran the Rupor jailbreak files, after instaling them to a 2gb SD card.

The script.log showed errors, but according to my research, the errors are normal and expected. Still I have no idea if I am jailbroken!4. ROOTING:I then ran the batch file for Rupor's AMR root fix. It copied a bunch of files, etc. But once the reader rebooted, all I saw was the main home page again, nothing in the software had changed.

I have no idea if I am rooted or have a different system!
